...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT WEST CENTRAL JONES...SOUTHERN
LENOIR...ONSLOW AND SOUTHEASTERN DUPLIN COUNTIES THROUGH 545 PM
EDT...
At 510 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Cypress Creek, or 15 miles west of Half Moon, moving northeast at 35
mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Jacksonville, North Topsail Beach, New River Station, Half Moon,
Richlands, Beulaville, Folkstone, Cypress Creek, Verona, Catherine
Lake, Dixon, Chinquapin, Potters Hill, Petersburg, Onslow Beach,
Albert J Ellis Airport, Richlands South, Sneads Ferry, Sea View Pier,
and Holly Ridge.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
