Southeast Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...A trough extends from central Florida to the Yucatan Peninsula. Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are southeast of the trough impacting most of the southeastern Gulf waters. The trough will gradually weaken through late Fri. A broad area of low pressure is forecast to form over the southwestern Gulf of Mexico late this weekend or early next week. Environmental conditions appear conducive for gradual development of this system, and a tropical depression could form during the early or middle part of next week while it moves slowly westward or west-northwestward. Increasing winds and building seas are expected with this system. .OVERNIGHT...SE winds 5 to 10 kt late. Seas 2 ft or less. Scattered showers and isolated tstms. .FRI...SE to S winds 10 to 15 kt. Within 200 nm east of the coast of Florida .SYNOPSIS...An n elongated area of low pressure offshore of the southeastern U.S. coast continues to produce some disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Despite strong upper-level winds, some gradual development is possible while the system moves northeastward offshore of the southeastern U.S. coast during the next day or so. Numerous showers and thunderstorms associated with this system will impact the waters N of 27N and W of 74W. Gusty winds, higher seas and frequent lightning will be associated with this convective activity forecast to persist through at least Fri. Fresh to strong southerly winds are expected over the western Atlantic ahead of this system through early Sat. As the low pressure departs, high pressure will build southward over the western Atlantic beginning this weekend and into early next week. .OVERNIGHT...S winds 10 to 15 kt late.
