Conditions given represent the highest within that period. Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be more than twice the significant wave height. Locally higher winds and seas can be expected in and near tstms. The National Weather Service is accepting public comments until July 29 2024 on a proposal to replace feet with meters when describing seas in a variety of National Marine Center text and graphical products for the Offshore and High Seas Areas only. Another low will reach Long Island early Sun with the low moving E and NE over the waters during Sun while pulling an associated cold front SE over the southern waters. A series of low pressure troughs will move E and SE over the region Sun night into Mon. The next cold front will approach the coast later Mon, with the front moving slowly offshore Mon night into Tue while weakening. Weak high pressure will form just N and W of the area Tue night into Wed as low pressure organizes to the S of the waters. The low will pass SE of the area Wed night as a weak ridge of high pressure prevails over New England. Gulf of Maine to the Hague Line .TODAY...W to SW winds 5 to 15 kt, increasing to 10 to 20 kt.
