174 FXUS64 KOHX 190616 AFDOHX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Nashville TN 116 AM CDT Thu Sep 19 2024 ...New SHORT TERM, LONG TERM... .SHORT TERM... (Today through Friday) Issued at 102 AM CDT Thu Sep 19 2024 It`s quiet across the area tonight with some high clouds passing by and some patches of fog being noted on the nighttime microphysics. Additional patches of fog will be possible through the early morning hours. Today will be a seasonably warm September day as upper ridging begins to build into the area. Some patchy fog will be possible again tonight before giving way to another hot and dry day on Friday. Highs on Friday will be another two or three degrees warmer than today. && .LONG TERM... (Friday Night through next Thursday) Issued at 102 AM CDT Thu Sep 19 2024 The warming trend will carry into the weekend with some locations climbing into the mid 90s on Saturday. Sunday looks very similar to Saturday. As we go into the next work week, the upper ridging will flatten out as a shortwave moves through the central plains. This will knock temperatures back a few degrees starting on Monday and could allow for the development of a couple diurnal showers and storms. The initial shortwave will miss us to the north as it lifts through the Midwest and Great Lakes Monday night. Models diverge after that point. Some bring another trough through the area increasing shower and storm chances by mid week while other solutions reestablish the upper high over the south leaving a large upper low over the front range of the Rockies. Let`s hope for the first solution because we could use some rain. && .AVIATION... (06Z TAFS) Issued at 1211 AM CDT Thu Sep 19 2024 Fog may impact CSV/SRB through the early morning hours otherwise VFR conditions are expected to prevail. Winds will be 5 kts or less through the taf period. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
