.DISCUSSION...

Dry weather is forecast through Saturday. A weather system passing
into British Columbia will bring enhanced northwest winds to the
Pioneer Fire Thursday and Thursday Night with wind gusts as high as
35 MPH out of the northwest. Winds will remain breezy on Friday
with gusts up to 25 MPH with lighter winds on Saturday.  On Sunday
a weather system will bring a chance of rain, with the chance of
wetting rain still at 30 percent mainly for portions of the fire
closer to the Cascade crest.

                    increasing to 7 to 14 mph with gusts up to 30
                    mph in the afternoon. Strongest winds on ridge
                    tops and along Lake Chelan. For steep south to
                    north drainages winds locally downslope/downvalley
                    4 to 8 mph then upslope/upvalley by 1100.
Mixing height.......Near the surface through 0900 PDT increasing to
                    3500 ft AGL in the afternoon.
Transport winds.....Northwest 5 to 10 mph in the morning increasing to
                    15 to 20 mph in the afternoon.
