- Seasonable and dry weather is expected through the weekend,
with only a very low (~10%) chance for a few showers across
eastern Oklahoma on Friday into Saturday.

- A cold front is expected early next week, though
      significant/precipitating weather is not currently
      anticipated.

.SHORT TERM...
(Today and tonight)
Issued at 245 AM CDT Thu Sep 26 2024

Low-impact weather is expected today. Despite light/calm winds
and clear skies, akin to previous early mornings, a slightly
drier airmass will keep relative humidities <90-95% and concern
for fog low for most areas. Still, patchy or terrain-induced fog
cannot be discounted where recent rainfall has occurred, mainly in
the area bounded by Interstates 35 & 40.

Otherwise, conditions on Thursday will feel very similar to those
felt yesterday (Wednesday). Afternoon high temperatures in the
low to mid-80s, a light northeast breeze and mostly clear skies
are forecast.

.LONG TERM...
(Friday through Wednesday)
Issued at 245 AM CDT Thu Sep 26 2024

A cutoff upper system across the Mississippi Valley remains poised
to begin phasing with Hurricane Helene on Thursday. At this time, a
consensus of both deterministic and ensemble output keeps the
brunt of sensible impacts with this feature further to the east
across the Ozarks/Mississippi Valley. Accordingly, chances for
scattered precipitation on Friday into Saturday continue to wane
at this update (now only a ~10% chance across far eastern zones).
The proximity of the system may be such that scattered mid/high
clouds are noted across eastern Oklahoma on Friday/Saturday.

A rather repetitive diurnal temperature trace is expected for
most locations into the weekend (and beyond), with afternoon highs
in the 80s and overnight lows in the 50s (north) to near 60
(south). Temperatures may warm up some, into the 90s, ahead of a
front on Monday. At this update, little impactful
weather/precipitation is expected with this front.
