Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NE Oregon and SE Washington
National Weather Service Pendleton OR
304 PM PDT Tue Jul 15 2025

...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
THURSDAY EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR JOHN-DAY
VALLEY, SOUTHERN BLUE MOUNTAINS AND WARM SPRINGS RESERVATION...

.DISCUSSION...Hot, dry and windy conditions are expected across
the aforementioned areas. The remainder of the area will still see
elevated fire weather concerns either due to winds or RHs but not
in combination. However, if a fire were to occur, fire spread will
likely be high. These conditions will persist through the end of
the week ahead of a cold front Saturday which will decrease the
winds.

***Winds are 20 foot 10 minute averages***
***CWR-chance of wetting rain 0.10 or greater***
***Ventilation Index is derived from the
transport wind multiplied by the mixing
height in 100`s of feet. Index categories
are a generalized indicator and users are
encourage to develop criteria that are
   suitable and representative of dispersion
conditions in their local area of interest.***
Note: Max transport winds may not occur
at the same time as max mixing height.
