Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest and South-Central
Arizona and Southeast California
National Weather Service Phoenix AZ
341 AM MST Sun Jun 16 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Hot, dry, and breezy/locally windy conditions will lead to
elevated to near critical fire weather today and tomorrow,
particularly across southcentral AZ tomorrow. Wind speeds will
increase across the region with afternoon gusts reaching 20-30 mph
both days. The higher terrain areas northeast of Phoenix are
likely to see the strongest winds tomorrow, with gusts as highs
as 30-35 mph possible, leading to locally critical fire weather.
Afternoon humidity levels will continue to fall to 10% or less and
poor overnight recovery of only 15-30% is expected over the next
few nights.

...Thunderstorms imply gusty winds...
