Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest and South-Central
Arizona and Southeast California
National Weather Service Phoenix AZ
239 PM MST Wed Jun 26 2024

.DISCUSSION...
For the remainder of today, thunderstorm chances are low (10-20%) but
remain mainly over the high terrain north and east of Phoenix.
Chances for thunderstorms decrease even further Thursday and are
near zero for Friday. Portions of western Imperial County and
Joshua Tree National Park could see wind gusts upwards of 30 mph
and locally up to 40 mph Thursday evening. Otherwise, winds will
remain relatively light (below 15 mph sustained) and favor
southwesterly directions, especially during the day. Occasional
afternoon and evening gusts up to 20-25 mph will be common. MinRHs
Thursday will hover around 15-25% and remain relatively unchanged
for the eastern deserts through the end of the week, while values
drop to 7-15% for the western districts in Southeastern
California on Friday. Overnight recoveries will remain fair at
around 30-50%.

...Thunderstorms imply gusty winds...
