Mount Rainier Recreational Forecast

.SYNOPSIS...High pressure moving over the region will bring
mostly dry conditions to Mount Rainier National Park today. A
fall-like weather system will move across the region on
Wednesday, bringing more widespread precipitation, breezy to
strong winds, and a chance of isolated thunderstorms to the area.
Another system will move into the region Thursday night into
Friday, before conditions dry out over the weekend.

.IMPACTS...Strong winds near the summit Tuesday night through
Thursday will make it difficult to move safely and could produce
local whiteout conditions. A high level of skill and experience in
alpine terrain, including use of GPS, is recommended for
navigation and camping in these conditions.

.TUESDAY...Sunny. Freezing level near 16000 feet.
.TUESDAY NIGHT...Partly cloudy. A slight chance of showers after
midnight. No snow accumulation near Paradise. Snow level near
11500 feet.
.WEDNESDAY...Showers in the morning, then showers, snow showers
and a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. No snow
accumulation near Paradise. Snow level near 10000 feet.
.WEDNESDAY NIGHT...Mostly cloudy with showers, snow showers
likely and a slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening, then
mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers after midnight.
Snow level near 7500 feet decreasing to 6000 feet after midnight.
.THURSDAY...Sunny. Freezing level near 10500 feet increasing to
12500 feet in the afternoon.
