This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Limited lightning risk.
  Limited excessive rainfall risk

DISCUSSION...

There is a 20 to 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms
this afternoon and evening across two areas, one area northeast
of Springfield and the other south of Springfield towards Branson.
Frequent lightning, locally heavy rainfall and wind gusts up to
50 mph will be the main threats. The threat will diminish this
after 8pm.

Additional showers and storms will develop after 10pm across
southeast Kansas and west central Missouri.

Heat Index values this afternoon will be in the 95 to 102 degree
range. The higher values will be west of Highway 65.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Chances for showers and thunderstorms increase Sunday with
lightning and brief heavy downpours being the main hazard. There
is a Marginal (1 of 5) Risk for severe weather Sunday for wind
gusts up to 60 mph.

Rain chances continue Monday with lightning being the main hazard
with any storm.
