Weather hazards expected... Marginal thunderstorm wind damage risk. Limited lightning risk. Limited excessive heat risk. DISCUSSION... There is a 20-30% chance for isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms in the eastern Ozarks between 7 and 10 AM this morning. Lightning will be the main hazard with these. Then, there is a Marginal (1 of 5) Risk for portions of southern Missouri this afternoon and evening. These storms will generally be isolated to scattered in coverage this afternoon and evening (10-20% chance). The main hazards will be lightning with isolated instances of wind gusts up to 40-60 mph. Heat Index values today will be in the 95 to 105 F range. The higher values will be west of Highway 65. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday. Chances for showers and thunderstorms increase over the weekend (40-95% chance Saturday and Sunday). Lightning will be the main hazard. Severe weather is not currently expected Saturday. There is a Marginal (1 of 5) Risk for severe weather Sunday for wind gusts up to 60 mph. Heat index values will be in the 90 to 100 F range Saturday.
