...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT BOURBON...NORTHERN CHEROKEE...
CRAWFORD...BARTON...VERNON AND NORTHWESTERN JASPER COUNTIES THROUGH
745 PM CDT...

At 717 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 6 miles north of Hume to near Parsons. Movement
was east at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Pittsburg, Prairie State Park, Nevada, Fort Scott, Lamar, Frontenac,
Girard, Arma, Jasper, Marmaton, Liberal, Cherokee, Weir, Alba,
Sheldon, Sherman, Mulberry, Scammon, Purcell, and Chicopee.

This includes Interstate 49 between mile markers 51 and 107.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for
southeastern Kansas...and southwestern and west central Missouri.
