National Weather Service San Angelo TX

...New SHORT TERM...

.SHORT TERM...
(This evening through Thursday)
Issued at 133 PM CDT Wed Sep 25 2024

Gusty north to northeast winds will become light and variable
overnight. Dewpoints are forecast to drop into the low to mid 60s to
sunrise Thursday. The combination of clear skies, low dewpoints and
light winds will result in good radiational cooling conditions.
Temperatures were lowered from the NBM numbers in low lying areas
and river valleys, with most locations bottoming out in the low to
mid 50s. Low temperatures across most of the Big Country will be in
the upper 50s. Highs on Thursday will be near to slightly below
seasonal normals, in the low to mid 80s. Dry conditions will prevail
through the next 24 hours.

.LONG TERM...
(Thursday through Tuesday)
Issued at 319 AM CDT Wed Sep 25 2024

-Warm and dry through the long term

From Thursday through this weekend, an upper level low will be
positioned over the eastern CONUS, with an upper level ridge
centered roughly over the southwestern U. S. By Tuesday, the upper
low will finally move off to the east/northeast, with the upper
level ridge pushing into west central Texas. This will keep our
area under northerly flow aloft, as well as the surface through
most of the long term. The main result of this will be a dry
forecast with drier air being advected into the area. Although we
will have northerly flow at the surface, our temperatures will be
near or a few degrees above normal through the middle of next
week.
