Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service San Angelo TX
609 PM CDT Wed Sep 25 2024

...New AVIATION...

.SHORT TERM...
(This evening through Thursday)
Issued at 133 PM CDT Wed Sep 25 2024

Gusty north to northeast winds will become light and variable
overnight. Dewpoints are forecast to drop into the low to mid 60s to
sunrise Thursday. The combination of clear skies, low dewpoints and
light winds will result in good radiational cooling conditions.
Temperatures were lowered from the NBM numbers in low lying areas
and river valleys, with most locations bottoming out in the low to
mid 50s. Low temperatures across most of the Big Country will be in
the upper 50s. Highs on Thursday will be near to slightly below
seasonal normals, in the low to mid 80s. Dry conditions will prevail
through the next 24 hours.

.LONG TERM...
(Thursday night through next Wednesday)
Issued at 201 PM CDT Wed Sep 25 2024

Relatively quiet weather is expected for the long-term. Near-normal
temperatures and dry conditions are forecast for the next week.
With low pressure both at the surface and aloft to our east, winds
will generally stay from the northwest to northeast for the rest
of this week. These winds will bring in drier air, keeping our
dewpoints in the 40s and 50s (which is a big improvement from the
dewpoints in the 60s and 70s we`ve seen earlier this week). The
drier conditions will allow for mostly clear skies and low
temperatures to drop into the 50s for much of the area over the
next week.
