...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM AST THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Corozal, Dorado and Vega Alta.

* WHEN...Until 1000 PM AST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Dangerous flows
  over low-water crossings. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor
  drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 702 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms over Dorado and Corozal, where minor flooding
    is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 1 and 2
    inches of rain have fallen. As this thunderstorm drifts
    westward, heavy rain will affect Vega Alta, where there will
    be a potential for urban and small stream flooding.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
