426 FZCA72 TJSJ 242003 MWSSJU Marine Weather Statement National Weather Service San Juan PR 403 PM AST Mon Jun 24 2024 AMZ711-712-716-741-742-250415- Atlantic Waters of Puerto Rico and USVI from 10 NM to 19.5N- Coastal Waters of Northern Puerto Rico out 10 NM- Coastal Waters from Cabo San Juan to the waters between Anegada Island and Virgin Gorda and North 10 NM- Mona Passage Southward to 17N- Coastal Waters of Northwestern Puerto Rico out 10 NM- 403 PM AST Mon Jun 24 2024 ...THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WATERS... At 400 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located over the coastal waters of western and northern Puerto Rico, and just east of St. John, moving west northwest around 15 knots. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes. Intense lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal objects. $$
