425 FZUS52 KTAE 250702 SRFTAE Surf Zone Forecast National Weather Service Tallahassee FL 302 AM EDT Wed Sep 25 2024 .THE SURF ZONE FORECAST GENERAL OUTLOOK... High risk of rip currents continue today for Franklin and south facing Gulf county beaches. However, although the other beaches are forecast to have a moderate risk for rip currents today, that quickly changes beginning this evening as seas and long period swells build on the approach of tropical cyclone Helene. Expect high risk at all beaches Thursday and into the weekend, closed beaches as a result of Helene, storm surge along Gulf county and around Apalachee Bay with evacuation orders ongoing in those same counties. It may take into early to mid next week before beach conditions return to a more favorable condition.
