Surf Zone Forecast
National Weather Service Tallahassee FL

.THE SURF ZONE FORECAST GENERAL OUTLOOK...

...HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS AT ALL LOCAL BEACHES THIS WEEKEND...

Offshore buoys were reporting 8-second wave periods with seas around
2 ft and a mean southerly wave direction early this morning. These
conditions are expected to continue ushering a high risk of rip
currents at all local beaches through at least this weekend. The
afternoon seabreeze will also reinforce the onshore flow. Beachgoers
are urged to be aware of what color beach flags are flying. Reminder:
double red means that the water is closed to the public, but the beach
remains open.
