Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL
822 PM EDT Thu Jun 20 2024

...New UPDATE...

.UPDATE...
Issued at 810 PM EDT Thu Jun 20 2024

A fairly quiet afternoon and early evening across the CWA with
the few showers that did develop now dissipating offshore. Breezy
winds should decrease over the next few hours as tight gradient
continues to relax. Lows by the morning hours should be 70s and by
the afternoon on Friday highs climb up into the mid 90s. The sea
breeze should support some isolated showers and maybe a storm or
two over the interior and then push back towards the coast in the
evening. Pockets of drier air could limit storm activity, but
dewpoints in the 70s will make temperatures feel uncomfortable.
Triple digit heat indices are possible, so residents and visitors
should keep this in mind if making outdoor plans. Take plenty of
breaks and stay hydrated.

Otherwise, no changes were made to the forecast as it remains on
track.

Issued at 737 PM EDT Thu Jun 20 2024

VFR conditions prevail through most of the period with easterly
winds decreasing overnight. Moisture gradually returns to the area
potentially bringing isolated to scattered activity near terminals
along the afternoon sea breeze. Therefore, PROB30 was added for a
few hours later in the period. Breezy and erratic winds along with
lower visibilities will be possible of storms develop.
