Afternoon heat index readings will peak in the upper 90s to around 100 degrees. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday. Heat index values will once again approach 100 degrees on Saturday. Additional periods of high heat index values are possible next week, especially Tuesday. A cold front will bring a round of thunderstorms into the area Saturday evening. A few of the storms could become strong to severe...with damaging wind gusts being the primary risk. There is also a risk for isolated large hail and locally heavy rainfall. Thunderstorm chances will return by Tuesday as another cold front drops into the region. Predictability is too low at this time to determine the threat for severe weather. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
