...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN STEUBEN COUNTY
THROUGH 700 PM EDT...

At 610 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Alfred, or 7 miles northeast of Wellsville, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Hornell, Canisteo, Howard, Jasper, Greenwood, Hartsville, West
Greenwood, and Buena Vista.

This includes the following highway exits...
 Interstate 86/Route 17 near 35.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
