Temperatures will start the day ranging from near 50 in the coolest valleys of the Alleghenies, to the upper 60s in the Greater Philly area. Sunshine mixing with mid and high clouds this afternoon will accompany warmer conditions today with winds staying relatively light. High temperatures will vary from around 80 degrees over the highest terrain of the North and West to around 90 in the larger Metro Areas of South-Central and Southeastern PA. The high will move off the Mid Atlantic Coast later this afternoon and moisture will return quickly by this evening on a strengthening low level Southwesterly flow. Some showers and thunderstorms will likely impact the Northwestern half of the state by daybreak Wednesday. Overnight lows will be much milder compared to early today and will range from the mid 60s to low 70s. The chance for showers and thunderstorms increases throughout Wednesday afternoon as a cold front and preceding nose of strong low to mid level, west to southwesterly winds moves across the Commonwealth. Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms are expected Wednesday. Seasonably warm and dry weather with abundant sunshine and comfortable humidity will follow for Thursday. $$
