A slight offshore wind influence will continue the warm and dry regime today, with highs in the 90s to around 100 common, followed by a few degrees of cooling for the rest of the week. Humidity levels will fall between 10 and 20 percent over the driest valleys and mountains. Mixing heights increase to between 8,000 to 12,000 feet across the interior each afternoon, capable of moderate vertical plume growth on any new fires. Southeast winds gusts of 20 to 30 mph will affect some mountain areas into Wednesday. Northwest Sundowner wind gusts of 25 to 40 mph will form Wednesday and Thursday evening. Otherwise, weaker than normal diurnal winds expected today, with more typical winds for follow through the week. A shallow marine layer will be focused along the coast with dense fog.
