South winds may continue to gust to 30 to 35 miles an hour at times across parts of northeast Oklahoma until diminishing after sunset. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... Spotter Activation Not Expected. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday. WEDNESDAY...Thunderstorm Potential. THURSDAY through SATURDAY...No Hazards. SUNDAY...Dangerous Heat Potential. MONDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...Dangerous Heat Potential. EXTENDED DISCUSSION... There is a limited risk of thunderstorms across northwest Arkansas and northeast Oklahoma on Wednesday afternoon. Severe weather is not expected, but the storms that form may produce gusty winds and brief heavy downpours. High pressure aloft will make a return to the region for the weekend and into early next week. Triple digit heat index values will be common. Heat headlines may be required by Sunday or Monday as above normal temperatures continue and humidity increases across the region.
