The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
  Western Alabama
  Southeast Arkansas
  Northeast Louisiana
  Mississippi

* Effective this Thursday afternoon and evening from 510 PM until
  1000 PM CDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 60 mph possible

SUMMARY...Widely scattered thunderstorms will continue to occur
across the region through at least sunset, but may sustain longer if
storms modestly organize into clusters and progress
south-southeastward across the region with wind damage as the
primary hazard.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60
statute miles north and south of a line from 30 miles south of
Monticello AR to 45 miles southeast of Columbus MS. For a complete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
