In northeast New Mexico, Northeast Highlands. * WHEN...Through this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Slow moving thunderstorms will develop over the Sangre De Cristo Mountains this afternoon and spread slowly eastward to include the adjacent highlands. These storms will produce heavy rainfall, persisting through the evening. Storm total rainfall amounts from Sunday afternoon through Monday will range from 1.0 to 1.5", but spotty higher totals up to 3.0" are possible. This type of rainfall will cause flash flooding on the Hermits Peak/Calf Canyon burn areas with the potential for dangerous debris flows. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
