...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 615 PM MDT THIS
EVENING FOR SOUTHWESTERN RIO ARRIBA AND NORTHERN SANDOVAL COUNTIES...

At 421 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms produced between
2 and 2.75 inches of rain near Gallina. Additional rainfall amounts
up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Gallina and Regina.

Flash flooding is expected along Highway 96 and Forest Service Road
76. High and fast water flows are expected in the Rio Gallina.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly or mountainous terrain there are numerous low water
crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not
attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
