...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 415 PM MDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of north central New Mexico, including the
  following county, southeastern Rio Arriba.

* WHEN...Until 415 PM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 111 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This is causing arroyo and small stream
    flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas have already caused
    minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch
    of rain has fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Espanola, Chimayo, Santa Clara Pueblo, Santa Cruz, Cuartelez,
    La Puebla, Rio Chiquito, Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo, Hernandez and
    Chamita.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
