370 FNUS55 KABQ 140933 FWFABQ Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North and Central New Mexico National Weather Service Albuquerque NM 333 AM MDT Sat Jun 14 2025 ...ELEVATED TO CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER POSSIBLE MONDAY AND TUESDAY FOR PARTS OF THE REGION... .DISCUSSION... Several hundred dry lightning strikes were reported across parts of the region on Friday, including the southwest high terrain and high plains of eastern NM. These areas will need to be monitored for potential fire starts as intense heat and single digit humidity impact the area this weekend into early next week. High pressure will break down Monday and Tuesday as low pressure moves through the southern Rockies. Southwest winds will increase over western NM on Monday followed by breezy west winds over the entire area Tuesday. Elevated to critical fire weather conditions are possible over a large area on Tuesday. A backdoor cold front is then expected to enter eastern NM Tuesday night and Wednesday while high pressure begins to build northward over the region once again. Virga showers and dry storms may increase Wednesday through Friday, especially for parts of eastern NM and the southern high terrain. ................................................................
