414 FNUS55 KABQ 070736 FWFABQ Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North and Central New Mexico National Weather Service Albuquerque NM 136 AM MDT Tue Oct 7 2025 .DISCUSSION... Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will favor areas along the central mountain chain and the Rio Grande Valley this afternoon, spreading across the central highlands this evening. Repeated rounds of moderate to locally heavy rainfall will threaten excessive runoff and flash flooding, notably over recent burn scars. Higher moisture advances westward to the AZ border Wednesday where thunderstorms will be favored along the Continental Divide in the afternoon, then the Rio Grande Valley by evening. Precipitation chances stay elevated across western NM Thursday and Friday before backtracking east towards central and eastern NM this weekend. Prevailing weather conditions are expected to stay outside critical fire weather thresholds areawide thru the forecast period. ................................................................
