238 FNUS55 KABQ 170802 FWFABQ Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North and Central New Mexico National Weather Service Albuquerque NM 202 AM MDT Tue Jun 17 2025 ...RED FLAG WARNING FOR PORTIONS OF WESTERN AND CENTRAL NEW MEXICO TODAY FROM 12PM TO 9PM MDT DUE TO STRONG WINDS, VERY LOW HUMIDITY, AND HIGH FIRE DANGER... .DISCUSSION... Increasing westerly winds gusting 25 to 35 mph, peaking to 40 mph, will combine with six to sixteen hours of single-digit humidity to create widespread critical fire weather conditions this afternoon across western and central NM. Very hot temperatures in the 90s to 100s will remain across valley locations across northern and central NM. A cold front backing thru eastern NM this evening and tonight brings an end to 100 degree heat across eastern NM Wednesday. The influx of higher moisture also ends the threat of critical fire weather. The heat builds back Thursday and Friday with steadily increasing precipitation chances by the weekend into early next week, mainly thru central and eastern NM. ................................................................
