Elevated to locally critical fire weather conditions will subside into the evening as winds relax. Overnight recoveries will still be poor in quality for areas west of the central mountains, with the east seeing good to excellent. Coverage of showers and thunderstorms will increase Wednesday, particularly east of the central mountains. The west will remain critically dry, with minimum RH in the low double and single digits. Moisture will surge into the eastern plains Wednesday night and then westward creating the potential for widespread showers Thursday into Friday. This will limit critical fire weather concerns through the end of the week. High pressure will rebuild over the weekend, creating a drying and warming trend through early next week.
