Gusty virga showers and dry thunderstorms will be a concern over eastern areas early this evening, then along the east slopes of the Sangre de Cristo and west central mountains as well each afternoon and early evening this weekend. Near record high temperatures are forecast mainly over central and southern areas Sunday and Monday. West and southwest winds will become gustier Monday and especially Tuesday, when mostly single digit humidities will result in potentially widespread critical fire weather conditions along and west of the Central and Northeast Highlands. A moist backdoor front will bring higher humidities to eastern areas toward the middle of next week, while returning daily rounds of gusty virga showers and dry thunderstorms along and east of the central mountain chain. ................................................................
