Today sees a break in the recent stretch of daily shower and thunderstorm activity. Light to modest afternoon breezes will be the rule today. The next surge of monsoonal moisture begins to arrive late Sunday with shower and thunderstorm activity reentering western NM. This activity spreads significantly across much of the forecast area Monday, persisting thru Tuesday and Wednesday likely with only short breaks for any one location. There will be a prolonged elevated risk of excessive rainfall threatening flash flooding, notably over recent burn scars. Conditions look to clear out west to east Thursday, with the storm system favored to exit the state by Friday. ................................................................
