...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHERN CHAVES COUNTY UNTIL
545 PM MDT...

At 508 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 10
miles south of Mesa, or 34 miles north of Roswell, moving northeast
at 10 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.

Locations impacted include...
  Mesa.

This includes Highway 285 between Mile Markers 138 and 154.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.

Accumulations of small hail on roads can create very slick and
hazardous driving conditions.

Motorists can expect brief but sudden changes in visibility and
ponding of water on roadways as storms move through the area.
