...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT CENTRAL SOCORRO COUNTY UNTIL
745 PM MDT...

At 709 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 5
miles east of Escondida, or 7 miles northeast of Socorro, moving
south at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.

Locations impacted include...
  Socorro, Escondida, San Antonio, Lemitar, Luis Lopez and Laborcita.

This includes the following highways...
Highway 380 between Mile Markers 1 and 8.
Highway 60 between Mile Markers 133 and 138.
Interstate 25 between Mile Markers 139 and 155.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.

Motorists can expect brief but sudden changes in visibility and
ponding of water on roadways as storms move through the area.
