...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 845 PM MDT
FOR SOUTHWESTERN COLFAX COUNTY...

At 805 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Cimarron, or
16 miles northwest of Springer, moving southeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Golf ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
         damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
         wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
  Springer, Cimarron, Maxwell, Philmont Scout Ranch, Miami and
  Rayado.

This includes the following highways...
Highway 64 between Mile Markers 300 and 320.
Interstate 25 between Mile Markers 404 and 426.

This includes the following recreation areas...
Philmont Scout Ranch.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure
and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing
dangerous hail and damaging winds.

Wind damage with this storm will occur before any rain or lightning.
Do not wait for the sound of thunder before taking cover. Seek
shelter immediately inside a sturdy structure and stay away from
windows.
