...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 330 PM MDT
FOR WEST CENTRAL COLFAX COUNTY...
At 304 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles northwest
of Ute Park, or 24 miles east of Questa, moving southwest at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Mainly rural areas of West Central Colfax County.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds and large
hail.
Accumulations of small hail on roads can create very slick and
hazardous driving conditions.
