...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1115 AM CDT SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, north central, and northeast South
  Dakota, including the following counties, in central South Dakota,
  Hand. In north central South Dakota, Faulk. In northeast South
  Dakota, Spink.

* WHEN...Until 1115 AM CDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
  continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
  Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1112 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is
    ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area.
    Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in
    the warned area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Redfield, Tulare, Zell, Rockham, Cottonwood Lake, Twin Lakes
    and Spottswood.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
