A system crosses the region today, with a stiff south breeze of 20
to 30 mph with locally higher gusts in some of the downslope prone
areas later this morning. Elevated showers won`t deliver much
moisture, but may likewise come with some gusty winds. Winds shift
to northwest behind the front, with afternoon humidity falling to
around 35 to 45 percent along and west of the James valley.
Northwest winds this afternoon will be gusting from 25 to 40 mph,
highest up in north central South Dakota.
