.DISCUSSION...
Low Grassland Fire Danger is once again in place this afternoon.
Southerly winds will gust up to 25-35 miles per hour over
northeastern South Dakota and western Minnesota, before a front
passes through during the late afternoon to evening. Behind the
front, winds turn northwesterly and decrease, eventually becoming
light and variable overnight. Chances for storms will also be in
place this afternoon, potentially creating cloud to ground lightning
and severe wind gusts of 60 miles per hour.
Chances for storms return again on Thursday afternoon and evening,
with the same potential fire weather concerns of cloud to ground
lightning and wind gusts of 60 miles per hour. Low Grassland Fire
Danger is also expected Thursday. Both this afternoon and Thursday
afternoon, afternoon humidity is not expected to drop below 40
percent.
