Light rain will transition to snow this morning, with the lowest transition late this morning over far eastern South Dakota and west central Minnesota. 2 to 8 inches of snow is expected through this evening. Most of the snow is expected to fall this afternoon. The highest snowfall amounts of around 4 to 8 inches over grassy and elevated surfaces across far northeastern South Dakota and west central Minnesota. The snow and winds gusting up to 45 mph will combine to create blowing snow with visibility down to 1/2 to a quarter mile or less at times this afternoon. Winds out of the northwest will gust up to 50 mph today. The snow and winds will combine to create patchy blowing snow through this evening. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
