The Fire Danger for today has increased to between high and very high thanks to winds that continue to shift to northwesterly behind a cold front and increase. Winds are expected to top out between 35 and 50 mph across north central South Dakota with closer to 25 to 35 mph for central and northeast South Dakota. Additionally, temperatures have been jumping into the 60s with humidity down around 25 to 40 percent. With the mild dry conditions and shifting and increasing winds, any fires that ignite may spread rapidly and become difficult to control or suppress. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.
