252 FNUS63 KABR 171944 AAA RFDABR Rangeland Fire Danger Statement...UPDATED National Weather Service Aberdeen SD 244 PM CDT Sun May 17 2026 .DISCUSSION... Showers and thunderstorms will become more widespread across central and parts of northeast South Dakota the first half of this afternoon and then shift east into most of northeast South Dakota and west central Minnesota later this afternoon into this evening. Some of this activity will be contain moderate to heavy rain along with the potential for strong to severe storms across far south central and east central South Dakota along with west central Minnesota. Rainfall will come to an end tonight with dry conditions expected through Monday morning before another round of light rain moves into the area Monday afternoon and Monday night. Winds will be north to northwest or become northerly by later today into tonight and Monday. Much cooler temperatures are expected for the first part of the week.
