A wet pattern is expected through the remainder of the week, which will support humidity greater than 60 percent through the weekend. Main fire weather concern for the rest of the day today are strong southerly winds gusting up to 25 to 35 miles per hour across the forecast area. Winds will diminish over central South Dakota this evening, but expect the strong winds to persist over northeastern South Dakota and western Minnesota. Grassland Fire Danger will be Low through the weekend, with the exception of this afternoon in Stanley and Jones counties, where the strong winds produce a Moderate Grassland Fire Danger Index.
