A warm, dry airmass will be in place across the region today. Temperatures are expected to top out in the 60s and 70s, which may break some records this afternoon. Meanwhile RH values across south central South Dakota will drop into the 20-25% range. The result, when combined with southwest to west winds gusting to 25 mph, will be high fire danger for south central South Dakota, but especially Jones and Lyman counties and areas along and south of I90. Cooler conditions and higher humidity between 40 and 55 percent forecast for Saturday. Winds will be from the northwest on Saturday, with gusts around 15 to 25 mph.
