Showers and weak thunderstorms are possible today, mainly across north central SD with isolated threats this afternoon and evening across portions of northeastern SD. While severe weather is not anticipated, cloud to ground lightning will remain the greatest threat. Winds will remain out of the east this morning, switching out of the southeast by the midday, with gusts of 20 to 30 mph, highest over north central SD. Additional spotty chances of rain and weak thunderstorms will be possible tonight through Saturday morning. Winds will switch out of the west then northwest, west to east across the forecast area, behind a cold front Saturday.
