High pressure is over central and northeastern South Dakota through
the day today keeping precipitation out of the area and winds much
lighter. Minimum relative humidity will stay above 60 percent for
most of the area. There is another chance for snow Friday into
Saturday over most of the area, with a 30-80% chance for 3 inches of
snow or more to fall throughout central and northeastern SD. After
this event, the ground over the entire forecast area should be snow-
covered for the foreseeable future.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture content of grasses,
and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that the
probability of a fast moving fire is low. Outdoor burning under
these conditions can usually be performed with reasonable safety
precautions, but should be monitored.

The outlook for Friday afternoon...The grassland fire danger index
will reach the low category.
