National Weather Service Aberdeen SD
218 PM CST Sun Nov 1 2026

.DISCUSSION...

The high relative humidity weather will continue, staying mainly
above 60 percent through the work week. Low pressure will shift
across Colorado and Nebraska Monday morning, with light rain over
central South Dakota becoming moderate and expanding across
northeastern South Dakota and west central Minnesota early Monday
morning. The steady rain will become more scattered and spotty Monday
afternoon as the low pressure system shifts across northeastern
South Dakota. A few rumbles of thunder will be possible. The light
rain will fill back in Monday night. Most of the rain will fall
Monday morning, with rain continuing into Tuesday. There is a 25 to
40 percent chance of 3 inches or more rain through Tuesday, and an
80 percent chance of 2 inches or more from south central to
northeastern South Dakota.

Strong winds will move in as the area of low pressure exits into
Minnesota later Monday. Winds out of the north will gust 45 to 55
mph late Monday afternoon into Monday evening near and west of the
Missouri River, and linger over portions of south central South
Dakota into Tuesday afternoon.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture content of grasses,
and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that the
probability of a fast moving fire is low. Outdoor burning under
these conditions can usually be performed with reasonable safety
precautions, but should be monitored.

The outlook for Monday afternoon...The grassland fire danger index
will reach the low category.
